I’m a 56-year-old wife and mom who lives in South Florida with my husband, Carlos, one of our three kids, Nico (Manu is a law student in Nashville and Emilia is a student at Florida State University), and our two "pound puppies", Dante and Harper.
I’ll never forget walking into my closet, as summer was ending, looking at a closet full of clothes, and grabbing the black sweatpants I’d been wearing religiously because they were the only pants that fit. I couldn’t believe how I had let myself go. In my mind, I was doing all the right things, exercising, and eating healthy, but I had gained weight and none of my clothes fit. I blamed it on COVID, aging, hormones, and, of course, menopause.
I started focusing on my nutrition and incorporating strength training, Pilates, and walking and I saw great progress. I was happy, and although I wasn’t “completely” satisfied, I was OK with it. I mean, at least I had made progress.
And then my life and health & fitness business got turned upside down...
I am guilty of often dismissing what I don’t fully understand and although I had been following a few women who were part of a different wellness space on social media, I didn’t fully understand what they did or the program either—so I didn’t give it credit or believe in it. Until I did.
After a conversation with a friend who happened to be a Certified Coach in that wellness space, I signed up for a 6-week round, tracking my macros, following a carb-cycling plan, doing targeted workouts, walking, and practicing intermittent fasting. After just 2 weeks, I noticed significant changes...Let’s just say the skinny jeans are back in rotation!
After everything I saw in the company and community, I knew this had been a divine intervention and I signed up, studied, took the test, and became a FASTer Way to Fat Loss Certified Coach.
That’s why, as someone who has struggled with weight gain after I hit 50, I KNOW it’s REALLY challenging to lose weight ~ because it happened to me ~ but I also know it can be done because I see it every day.
My mission is to help women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond, achieve their health and wellness goals so that they can feel confident and energized every day, create sustainable habits for life, and maybe even partner with me to start their own online fitness business.
For years I toyed with the idea of creating a blog where I could share all the things that I am passionate about, from healthy living to my love of delicious food and wine (and occasional margaritas) to workouts, and even travel, beauty, and fashion tips. That's how The Fit and Healthy Diaries came to be.
I am here to inspire you, motivate you, and help you get healthy while still enjoying your life. It's not easy, and sometimes, we don't have someone to support us, I want to be the support you need!
